Aprox 4 is a complete rewrite of the app. If you used Aprox 3 on the same device, your servers from the old version are still stored there. You can import them, together with their saved passwords, so you do not have to enter them again.

Where to find it

  • Empty sidebar: when you have not added any servers yet, the sidebar says "Your servers from the previous version of Aprox are still on this device and can be imported." and shows Import Servers.
  • Settings: at the top of Settings, Import Servers. On Android the section is titled Earlier Version. On a Mac, open Aprox › Settings… (⌘,).

The option is shown only while there is something left to import.

Import your servers

  1. Tap Import Servers.
  2. Aprox confirms how many servers it imported, for example "3 servers imported." (Android: "Imported 3 servers.").
  3. Tap each server in the sidebar and sign in.
  4. If Aprox shows the certificate prompt, compare the fingerprint and tap Trust This Certificate. See Self-signed certificates.

The Settings footer explains: "Servers from the previous version of Aprox are still on this device. Importing brings them back, together with any saved passwords."

Good to know

  • Aprox only reads the old data. It never changes or deletes it.
  • Once everything has been imported, Import Servers disappears.
  • You may need to trust each server's certificate again.
  • Imported servers behave like any server you add by hand. You can edit, sign out of or remove them. See Edit, sign out or remove a server.
  • Importing works only on the device where Aprox 3 stored the servers. Servers are not synced between devices.
